According to research by an English university, the average toothbrush can contain over 10 million bacteria, including E. coli. Things get even worse if you hold the toothbrush on the sink near the toilet.

Clean your brush every day

After each brushing of the teeth, wash the brush under running water to remove bacteria from the mouth that you have transferred to the toothbrush, as well as the rest of toothpaste.

If you were sick, you might as well then buy a new toothbrush in order to reduce the risk of re diseases.

Replace your toothbrush every three months

Do not wait for your brush to become old and worn away to replace it with new one. A worn toothbrush will not remove the good bacteria and food particles from your teeth, so change your brush frequently. At least every three months.

Keep your toothbrush away from the toilet

Under ideal conditions your toothbrush should be stored in a dry, upright where there is enough air in order to dry.

Do not share your toothbrush with others

No matter how much you like your boyfriend, do not brush your teeth with his brush. In fact, in that way, you put both yourself and him at risk of becoming infected with various infections. Different people have different amounts of bacteria in their mouths, so is not worth the risk.
