All medical experts and nutritionists agree that consuming processed and fast food is extremely harmful to our overall health. Recently there was expose of the process of making of french – fry in McDonald’s. Namely, it was revealed that the ingredients used in it cause serious brain damage, autoimmune disorders and more.
Grant Imahara, of Mythbusters fame, recently visited the McDonald’s fry factory. His intention was to find out exactly what McDonald’s fries are made of. It is quite shocking that during the process, McDonald’s fries are made up of 15 harmful ingredients. Below you can see the list of ingredients:

– Hydrogenated soybean oil
– Natural beef flavor
– Hydrolyzed wheat
– Hydrolyzed milk
– Citric acid
– Sodium acid pyrophosphate

– TBHQ (Tertiary butylhydroquinone)
TBHQ, or tertiary butylhydroquinone, is a type of phenol that is used to prevent deterioration of food, however it is often found in substances such as perfume and bio-diesel.
Hydrogenated soybean oil – People who consume it regularly can suffer a variety of adverse health effects. According to Women’s Hospital in Boston and the research conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health and the hospital Brigham, they showed that at least 100,000 heart attacks that occurred in America every year, could be prevented and avoided if people simply had replaced Trans fats with non-hydrogenated polyunsaturated or monounsaturated oils.
Dimethylpolysiloxane – is compound that mostly is used in hair conditioners, silly putty and in aquarium tank sealants. It can even contain formaldehyde which is well -known toxic chemical that has been linked to cancer, allergies brain damage, autoimmune disorders, etc.
“OurFood. Your Questions” is McDonald’s campaign called which is an initiative to make nutritional information more available for customers. It is important to mention that the release of this information about their french fries was part of that campaign.
