Scientists say that some food preparation containers that have the labels “non-sticky” are a danger to you and your family.
Due to this fact, a large group of world experts and scientists signed the “Madrid Document” saying that they are worried about the wide use of poly and Perfluoroalkyl substances. These are chemicals that are used for making metal food containers (like packing fast food and paper plates or “strengthened plastic”) and they have a “non-sticky cover” that doesn’t allow the food to burn or stick on the bottom.
A recent study, conducted on animals, has found that certain types of PFASs can lead to disrupted functioning of the endocrine and immune system, liver poisoning and metabolism weakening. Unfortunately, these toxins are not only present in the food which is stored or cooked into them, but, also, under the influence of heat, they easily spread in the air, and then from the air to the drinking water, the soil poisoning the entire environment.
Scientists from all around the world call upon the manufacturers of food preparation containers to stop using PFASs chemicals, because we all know that nowadays there are many different alternatives for manufacturing such pans in which the food cannot stick or burn. For all housewives this is a very simple but very useful advice: get rid of them once and for all if you see the above mentioned signs on the food containers which you use!
